🚀 Your Sunday rendezvous with mindblowing animation!

Sunday is our weekly festival event for animation film aficionados. Our program WORLDS EXPANDING highlights eight of the hottest recent animated short films from Canada, Estonia, Japan, Portugal, Switzerland, and the UK. With narrative and technical finesse, exploring the almost limitless creative possibilities of animated films, the boundaries of space and time are suspended.

As they roam the world in order to leave their mark, whimsical characters gather memories and memorabilia, turning trash into family treasures. Have you ever heard of the record that reads your mind and plays music from your forgotten memories? And have you heard of the sailor who, in 1917, was sent on an unexpected voyage by an explosion, flew over 2 km and lived to tell about it?

Well, all of this is very possible. And more.

Many working hands: they prepare the coffee, feed the baby, sew clothes, or sweep the street. Their work keeps the world running, but in most cases it remains invisible.

The apocalypse is near. Bring on the champagne! 🍾 🌍

Together with @klimarechnungshof.jetzt we explore the question: How can knowledge about climate change be communicated using audiovisual media? And vice versa: What still needs to be said and done to avert the final climate collapse?

In any case, there seems to be no shortage of brilliant ideas for sustainable products and actions. Numerous references can also be found in pop culture. Will a catchy groove combined with phenomenal outreach do the trick? Or will the messages of fundamentalist televangelists and capitalist TV shows prevail?

Opening night is about to spark an explosion of sensations! ✨

Slimy, tactile, physical: ten short, highly sensual film variations directed by women* intertwine surreal animation with congenial sound design.

Suppressed desires rise to the surface, anger literally pushes the boundaries of the physical, lightness overcomes gravity, pain and lust are siblings that rock each other up to ecstasy. Surreal impressions combine with very real physical experiences in this film program like an LSD trip, a love letter, a delicious lession in self-awareness.

Together with @trickywomen we celebrate the dotdotdot opening night with the first chapter of our homage to iconic artist Leonora Carrington. ✨
